Amal Experience
Mango Milkshake is just a normal drink for all of us but it reminds me of the starting weeks of the Amal journey. The fellowship started in extremely hot weather and I am not an early bird, so to have an alternative of breakfast to be on time in class I use to have milkshake by my side.

The starting journey of Amal was with mixed feelings, I didn’t know what to expect. At the start, I was kind of scared about how will I be able to bond with people virtually as it was a completely new experience for me. Also, how would I be able to select a team for the mega project or be noticed in the class for participation? With Amal, I learned that you can have a great bond with people virtually too. I have got a few of the greatest friends and facilitators from this journey. In the starting, I didn’t know about the function of the virtual hand raised due to which I use to raise my hand physically.
I loved the first course, it was on knowing yourself and I loved doing it, especially the part where our friend had to fill a form for us. It helped me know so much about what others think of me. Doing project works in the starting two weeks was difficult due to not being able to manage time properly but truly loved them.
During the first two weeks, I have learned a lot. I was camera shy and in the second week, we were asked to make a video of ourselves and upload, it was a new experience for me. The life map activity was one of the best activities, it made me go through all events that happened in my life happy or sad, and discover new things that I have forgotten. Also thought about my strengths and weaknesses that we don’t on daily basis.
I am shy at presenting my points but with the Amal journey I discovered that I can present anything, all I need is to have confidence in myself. I always use to consider big achievements in life only but with Amal, I discovered that I have achieved a lot, it doesn’t matter if it’s big or small every achievement matters. I have also discovered the area of weaknesses that I have and what ways to choose to improve them. I feel this journey has helped me a lot in making me a better version of myself, which was one of the major goals of joining the fellowship.

The Amal journey thought me more than I expected from it. I loved how it focused on practical thing more, the one on one sessions were amazing that gave everyone a direction to go to. Throughout this journey, I have discovered that it’s never too late to learn something new and how small actions and efforts can make a big difference.
